Flow Of The Gold
Dear Reader,
Has the novelty of the World Wide Web finally worn off?
According to reliable reports from Washington D.C.
Americans are spending slightly less time online than
they did in the recent past. Specifically, the average
internet session lasted 83 minutes in 2001, compared
with 90 minutes in 2000.

Internet Interest Dips Or Opportunity To Pan For The Gold?
The decrease in internet usage is attributed to the fact
that internet users have become more efficient and
goal-oriented when they surf online, and no longer
spend so much time browsing when the web was
newer. People are sacrificing they're TV viewing (25%),
less time shopping in stores (18%), less time in social
functions (2%) in order to surf and use web services.

The good news is almost all uses of the internet has
increased, even though the amount of time people use
it has decreased. There is a perceptable flow of usage
towards this medium, and where the use goes so does
the GOLD! Year 2000 to Year 2001: The volume of
shopping increased from 47% to 53%, Purchasing
Travel 34% to 42%, audio/video clips 47% to 51%,
hobby services 76% to 78%, used email 89% to 92%.
The smart marketer will learn how to tap this ever-
growing market, a market that is ever more narrow in
it's focus while getting larger and larger every day!
There are tried and tested methods of reaching
customers and building a solid presence on the internet,
all of which will require a persistent effort, but what
miner ever struck gold without dipping his pan into the
water?!
