Dear Reader,
Since you have created a commercial for USA
advertising, that same commercial can be used for
overseas sales. A Submaster of your commercial will
need to be "dubbed" into an appropriate language-
depending on the country selling your products. The
cost of dubbing is negotiable although the overseas
distributor will usually cover those expenses.
One important consideration from the start of any
project is will you want to advertise overseas and if so,
how can you make a commercial that will be easily
adaptable to language insertion and viewable to a
foreign audience? The movie industry has this
consideration developed to a science.
Putting Your Products in the Hands of Overseas Distributors
You also need to supply samples of your product(s). So
when a distributer is interested in your product, your
representative (Global Source Marketing) can provide
a "live" product for review. In some countries where a
commitment has been made to sell your products,
samples need to be given to government officials and
Customs agents.
It is your responsibility to supply samples to your agent
such as Global, so they can showcase your product to
interested parties. The range of samples needed can
amount from 12 to 75, it all depends on international
interest in your product. Global Source Marketing pays
the shipping to numerous locations throughout the
world for distributors to see your products.

Showcasing Your Products Via The Web |
 |
|
The first step is for Global to place your product on
their website. As much information as needed (this
includes the selling price for ALL countries overseas) is
available through a SECURED webpage, ONLY available
to Global's overseas contacts. An email alert is sent to
over 49 countries, and distributors have the
opportunity to review your product on Global's website.
Once a distributor has reviewed the web information
and they respond to Global's offer, then usually a
sample of the product is sent. This is a "well-begun"
initial contact and eliminates unnecessary expense and
time wasting, because enough information has been
seen to trigger a positive response. Usually from the
time the product is showcased on the website, a
sample sent, your commercial viewed, and the results
of this introduction is sent back to Global-it takes 14 to
21 days per inquiry.

Exclusive verses Multiple Overseas Representatives |
 |
Since 1987 Global Source Marketing, Inc. has been
selling products overseas-they introduced the first two
infomercials ever shown in Japan, and were the second
marketers to air infomericals in Europe as well. Global
does business overseas on a handshake, and they have
found that is still as good as your word in foreign
business transactions. Unfortunately in the USA that is
not the case.
Global understands how the international markets work,
and they offer your product at a price that will "work
for all parties concerned." In the past, when a client
used more than one agent various selling prices found
their way to the same overseas distributors-the results
were confusion, price competition for the same
product, and in general the effort was undermined.
Your best interests are served to use one international
representative. It is not necessary to sign some sort of
worldwide exclusive agreement, but rather go into the
marketplace with ONE VOICE, test the performance of a
company such as Global and if they provide results,
then grant exclusives one-country-at-a-time.
